  • Cửa nhựa lõi thép : Là loại cửa ngoại thất được dùng nhiều vì mẫu mã đẹp cách âm cách nhiệt tốt không vênh khi sử dụng.
  • Cửa sắt có ưu điểm dễ tạo hình giá thành rẻ dễ kết hợp với kính thi công nhanh. Tuy nhiên cần lưu ý khi thi công tránh tạo các nút giữ nước dễ gây mục và sơn lót kỹ hoặc đem tĩnh điện các thành phần tránh rỉ sét. Kiểm tra cần lưu ý các điểm mài bong hàn phải sát nhưng không tách rời.
  • Cửa kính suốt đáp ứng cao về yêu cầu mở rộng không gian tầm nhìn không giới hạn của kiến trúc sư, cách âm cách nhiệt tốt tuy nhiên lại là vật liệu phản xạ âm cao cần lưu ý kỹ điều này khi bố trí không gian. Có thể nói cửa kính là loại hình không thể thiếu với mặt tiền thương mại đặc biệt là cửa tự động hoặc cửa bản lề sàn. Ưu điểm rất nhiều nhưng nhược điểm là giá thành cao do các linh kiện thường phải chế tạo chi tiết.
  • Cửa nhôm: Với các loại cửa nhôm ốp gỗ gồm bề mặt hoàn thiện ngoài bằng nhôm trong nội thất thì bằng gỗ nên rất bền. Ngoài ra loại thông dụng thì là các cửa nhôm với hệ nhôm được lắp ráp  tại nhà máy hay các xưởng sản xuất nhưng cửa nhôm đa số dùng cho các công trình công cộng là phần nhiều vì giá thành rẻ thi công nhanh.
  • Cửa inox dùng nhiều cho nhà hàng phòng khám đặc điểm sạch dễ vệ sinh khó rỉ sét. Tuy vậy cửa inox rất khó thiết kế để không gian kiến trúc sinh động. giá thành cao cũng là điểm hạn chế của loại cửa này.
